Working closely with Landscape Architect – Orchard Design, Caroline Chisholm Catholic College wanted to produce an iconic central courtyard for the school. The goal was to build a vibrant student space which was inspirational and functional, while providing some eating spaces and thought-provoking quotes.
— The construction space was surrounded on 3 sides by 2-storey buildings
— The school was operational, with 1500+ students at the time of construction
— The construction was to take place during school exams and school events
— Existing services such as plumbing, gas and fire services were just below ground level
— Complex documentation was required and heavy technical specs were to be adhered to
Landstruct staff worked closely with the school and Landscape Architect to overcome several complexities over the course of the project, ensuring the seamless, stress-free delivery of this masterful landscape design for the college.
By taking a preventative approach, using strong communication and unparalleled coordination and management, the challenges were handled promptly and professionally. This allowed us to produce a spectacular courtyard safely, on time and within budget with minimal interruptions to the client and their students.
